Vincy Grace, a final-year B.Tech student in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at GNITS. She had a strong passion for coding and thrive on projects that challenge her technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
Throughout her academic journey, she learned to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Some of the key projects she is part of:
Career Map
Stuttering Detection in Regional Languages (Telugu) using machine learning algorithms.
In addition to her studies, she actively involved in extracurricular activities, including photography and social service clubs at her college.
These experiences have significantly enhanced her communication skills and helped in overcome social anxieties, contributing to her personal and professional development.
2. How did you come to know about the company and what was your thoughts initially ?
She learned about EPAM through her college’s placement cell and various online platforms. She was initially drawn to the company’s strong reputation for fostering innovation and providing exciting challenges in software development.
She believed, EPAM aligns perfectly with her aspirations to continually grow, learn new technologies, and thrive in a collaborative environment.
3 How did you prepared for the interview ?
To prepare for the interview, she took the following steps:
Learning Core Technical Skills: She concentrated on mastering Java, Data Structures, Algorithms, SQL, and JavaScript, which were essential for the technical rounds.
Mock Interviews and Group Discussions: She regularly practiced coding problems and participated in mock interviews to build her confidence in articulating ideas during group discussions.
Research on EPAM: She researched the company’s work culture, key projects, and role expectations, which helped her feel more prepared for the HR round.
4 What are challenges you faced during preparation for placements ?
The biggest challenges that encountered were:
Balancing Academic Workload and Placement Preparation: It was tough to manage her studies while getting ready for placements.
Consistent Practice of Coding Questions: She needed to practice coding regularly to strengthen my problem-solving skills.
Overcoming Nervousness: She initially struggled with anxiety during group discussions and technical interviews.
To tackle these challenges, She created a structured schedule and participated in group mock interviews, which helped boost her confidence.
5. What are interview rounds and the questions ?
The interview process at EPAM consisted of three rounds:
Group Discussion:
This was a straightforward round where hiring team provided a topic to discuss. The key was to engage actively and express our opinions with confidence.
Technical Round:
This round focused on Java, Data Structures, Algorithms, JavaScript, and SQL. She faced questions related to the projects on my resume, and also asked to solve a coding problem along with a logical question.
HR Round:
This round primarily included common questions about her background, interests, and reasons for choosing EPAM. It aimed to assess her personality fit and communication skills.
6 What did you liked about the company you are joining ?
She was especially attracted to EPAM’s commitment to continuous learning and development. The opportunity to work on innovative projects, along with the company’s collaborative work culture, really resonated with her. She was excited about the chance to enhance her technical skills in an environment that fosters growth and encourages exploration.
7 Tell us more about your job role how it is related to your future goals ?
She will be joining EPAM as a Software Developer, where She was responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions. This role perfectly aligns with her goal of becoming a proficient full-stack developer, as it will provide hands-on experience in both backend and frontend development. I believe the challenges she will face in this position will help her further enhancement of coding skills and foster personal and professional growth.
8. What are your future plans or goals ?
In the near future, Her aim is to:
• Contribute effectively to the team and the projects that are assigned.
• Continuously improve coding skills and stay updated on new developments in software engineering.
In the long run, She aspire to take on leadership roles in software development projects and contribute to creating innovative products that make a meaningful impact.
9. What are your learnings and takeaways from your experience both personally and professionally?
Personally:
• She has gained more confidence in public speaking through participating in group discussions.
• Managing stress and deadlines during her preparation has significantly improved time management skills.
Professionally:
Working on real-world projects has highlighted the importance of writing clean and efficient code.
The interview experience reinforced the value of preparation and adaptability.
